I am drawn to the nature of the in-between spaces that we increasingly inhabit, be they architectural- of the domestic, city or landscape- virtual, or atmospheric.
Within the project, I found myself interested in windows and shadows. Working in black and white, it was the contrast of light and lines that I liked, rather than capturing objects; windows covered in blinds, small windows looking up to the skies, the shadows and light reflected through the windows that fleetingly cover empty stretches of walls. I veer towards empty and people less spaces.
This emptiness and ambiguity is something I wanted to use to explore themes of the project, ideas about housing and shared spaces.
